(Almost) Everything you need to know about Sports Luxe
Last couple of years have been all about Sports Luxe – we went through acceptance of sneakers at work and in restaurants, ‘workout’ clothes sneaked into our wardrobes and are now worn anywhere but the gym. It is ‘normal’ to wear a fancy tracksuit with an elegant cashmere coat.
I was always a huge fan of Sports Luxe style and adopted it way earlier than it was publicly accepted (or probably before the definition of this style was even written).
So, what is Sports Luxe and how to master it?
Sports Luxe outfits are casual-looking, cozy to wear and are hardly meant for the gym. Instead, you can wear them on dates, to dinner parties and even to work. Interestingly, most of Sports Luxe style outfits look equally great with a pair of heels and a pair of sneakers (maybe this is the way to identify them?!)
To be honest most of the time I cannot force myself to be uncomfortable all evening wearing some sort of a tight dress with heels. Frankly I never dress like that. Sporty outfit paired with heels feels way better, allows me to look fashionable and fairly dressed up without too much inconvenience 🙂
My Paris look is from the day I had to run a couple errands, go for dinner with a friend and then go off to a PFW after party in a fancy hotel bar. Frankly I was comfy all day long and didn’t feel over or underdressed at any moment of the day.
Outfit recap: stretchy suede feel leggings in brown/khaki with exposed stitching (similar HERE), oversized shirt dress in military green stretchy cotton(similar HERE), oversized cocoon trench in light beige – everything long, layered, quite voluminous (similar HERE). Hand embroidered cap is from a Parisian brand called La Draft (a friend of mine is from La Draft team so I wear his gift preciously). Accessories I chose for this look: a leopard print small structured bag by Perrin Paris (HERE) and a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood silver heels. (HERE in black)
If you guys feel like getting into Sports Luxe go dig out leggings and hoodies from your closet, layer with elegant items and match with comfortable heels or fancy sneakers and you will never go back:)
