Double denim outfits have been on and off magazine pages for a while now, but unlike other trends, you don’t see much of them around in ‘real life’. I’m guessing that a good double denim outfit is not so obvious to put together and most people choose to stay away from trouble 😂
I want to share a couple of do’s and dont’s when you are putting together a double denim look.
Firstly, it is very important to forget such accessories as hats, heavy belts, cowboy boots – adding any of those elements means increased risk of looking like a caricature from a western movie.
Secondly, when you go double denim stay away from additional denim accessories such a denim scarves, bandanas, bags and shoes.
For double denim beginners, it might be easier to completely mismatch colors than try to find a perfect double blue. You might try a pair of black jeans with a light blue denim shirt or blue jeans with a white denim top.
However, there is nothing like those perfect blue hues, slightly mismatching to make a perfect match made in heaven 😻
For this photoshoot I wore my cropped frayed and flared favs from Mother Denim paired with a slight lighter shade of a denim shirt from Azul by Moussy. My secret is clean and simple accessories: white tee and a pair of white Stan Smiths – I think double denim works wonders with a bit of white. I also prefer my shirt longer thrown over a tee versus a tight denim shirt that you would wear inside your jeans, I feel it makes a cooler and more spontaneous look.
