Hi guys, I know many of you have been following my travels around Italy on my Instagram but I felt like publishing a little diary on the blog to tell you a little more about Cinque Terre since it was the first time for me and I am in love. Set amid some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the planet, Cinque Terre is composed of five ingeniously constructed fishing villages which are a Unesco World Heritage site since 1997. The beauty of this place is incredible, I actually felt like I am on a different planet.
I have spent a day in Milan with my family before heading to Cinqueterre (Italian seaside) and we had a fantastic time gelato-eating, aperitivo-drinking, shopping and finishing off with Magic Flute opera at La Scala. Busy day but just one outfit that I wanted to share with you:)My absolute favorite striped 2-piece is from Loup, a NYC-based brand inspired by Parisian film, art and fashion icons such as Brigitte Bardot and Jane Birkin. Those very 70-s wide high-waisted culottes and belted kimono jacket look equally stylish with heels or Converse –
It’s almost fall….but still summer. How to dress? Depending on where you live days can be pretty hot but evenings get really chilly so little white dresses are ready to go hibernate on shelves and hangers till next summer. Even though autumn is clearly approaching, many of us are still not ready for sweaters, thick denim, sneakers and boots – we need a fall transition plan. Some people are never cold, I’m sure each of you have one of these superhuman on your friends list:) That girl in a short backless dress that is sitting on a terrace with an ice margarita at 60F (15 degrees celsius for my dear Europeans) –
SOME THOUGHTS ON QUALITY OVER FAST FASHIONLike many of you, I have a very busy life. Rare are the moments where I can sit down and relax, read a book, fake online-shop by adding items to cart and never pressing ‘checkout’, do silly stuff just to kill time. Busy life has also affected my shopping habits- I went from impulsive frequent shopping for things I don’t need to carefully selecting what I buy, simply because I am tired of the waste and tired of things I wear once and don’t want to look at ever again.
Confession: I have been obsessing over a couple of straw hats lately and patiently waiting for some of them to go on sale to hit “BUY”. I wanted to share my selection of beautiful, stylish and unusual straw hats to wear this summer. My picks are a little more pricey (starting at a little over 50 USD) than some of the more simple straw hats from Zara or H&M, however I came to a conclusion that investing into a very special straw hat is smart. I purchased a couple of straw hats this summer and I know that I will certainly wear them again next year.
